 The Toronto Shelter Network connects and supports Toronto’s homelessness service providers. Together, we support emergency shelters, respites, and women’s 24-hour drop-ins across Toronto to more effectively meet the needs of people experiencing homelessness.

Projects

Through the support and contribution of partners including Ontario Trillium Foundation, Metcalf Foundation, YMCA, Sistering, Fred Victor, the 519, 2 Spirited People of the 1st Nations, and the City of Toronto we have developed a number of projects:

 

MEETING CRISIS WITH OPPORTUNITY

The Toronto Shelter Network (TSN), in partnership with Dixon Hall Neighbourhood Services (Dixon Hall) embarked on a six-month exploratory study called “Meeting Crisis with Opportunity: Reimagining Toronto’s Shelter System”.

THE SHELTER SECTOR PIPELINE PROJECT: FROM HOMELESS TO EQUITABLE WORK

Funded by the Metcalf Foundation, the purpose of the project is to support Toronto’s 24-hour homelessness sector in a collective effort to hire, retain, and promote people with lived experience of homelessness; and to help organizations in the sector (including emergency shelters, respite centres, 24 hour drop-ins and COVID hotel programs) to be exemplary employers for these staff.
